Step by process
Driver’s license process
01/. Obtain a Provisional License
The first step to earning your UK driving license is to secure a provisional license. You can apply online through the official GOV.UK platform or by picking up a D1 application form from your nearest Post Office.
02/. Begin Your Driving Journey
With your provisional license in hand, you can start driving lessons with an approved instructor. These lessons will provide you with the necessary skills and understanding to drive safely and confidently, setting the foundation for your test preparation.
03/. Pass the Theory Test
Before scheduling your practical test, you’ll need to clear the theory test. This involves answering multiple-choice questions and completing a hazard perception assessment to demonstrate your knowledge of road safety and hazard awareness.
04/.Schedule and Pass the Practical Test
Once you’ve successfully completed the theory test, you can book your practical driving test. This test evaluates your ability to handle a vehicle safely, follow road rules, and navigate various driving conditions. Passing this test earns you a full UK driving license.
05/.Renew Your License Every Decade
A full UK driving license remains valid for 10 years. Be sure to renew it on time, as the DVLA will send you a reminder before your license expires.
